Columbia Restaurant Expands Presence in Tampa's Ybor City
September 12, 2026
TAMPA, FL — One of Tampa's most iconic restaurants is expanding its historic presence in Ybor City.
The Columbia Restaurant, Florida's oldest restaurant, announced a new expansion at its flagship location in Ybor City.
The expansion will add a dedicated event space and an expanded dining room to the restaurant's historic 7th Avenue location, which has served Tampa diners since 1905.
The Columbia is known for its Spanish-Cuban cuisine, including its famous "1905 Salad," Cuban sandwiches, and paella, and has been a cornerstone of Ybor City's dining scene for more than 120 years.
The expansion comes amid a wave of investment in Ybor City, as the historic neighborhood continues to attract new residents, businesses, and visitors.
The restaurant's growth reflects the broader revitalization of Ybor City, where historic buildings are being restored and new developments are bringing fresh energy to the district.
The Columbia Restaurant Group also operates locations at the Tampa Bay History Center, the Tampa International Airport, and in St. Petersburg and Sarasota.
The expanded Ybor City location is expected to open in late 2026.
